Overview

Mercurius Solubilis (Merc Sol) is used when there is infection, inflammation, foul smelling discharges, excessive saliva and ulceration. The person is often sweaty, restless and sensitive to both heat and cold. Common in throat infections, dental issues, diarrhoea, and advanced colds with thick yellow mucus and ulceration.

When to Think of This Remedy

• Sore throats with swollen tonsils and burning pain
• Excess saliva with bad breath
• Thick yellow or green nasal discharge
• Mouth ulcers, bleeding gums or dental infections
• Diarrhoea with straining, especially at night
• Nostrils ulcerated or irritated from infection
• Offensive-smelling breath or discharges

• Restless and anxious, especially at night

• Profuse saliva (“wet mouth”)
