Common uses:

  • Acute fever and inflammation, often with sudden onset, high temperature, and redness of the skin, especially when accompanied by a flushed face and sensitivity to light and noise.
  • Headaches that come on suddenly, often throbbing or pounding, with intense pain, sensitivity to touch, light, and sound, and possibly accompanied by nausea.
  • Sore throat and respiratory conditions, with a dry, inflamed throat, difficulty swallowing, and a feeling of constriction or tightness in the chest.
  • Burns and sunburn where the skin is red, hot, shiny and throbbing and the pain is worse from touch. In sunstroke the face is flushed and the head pounding.
  • Conjunctivitis, bright red eyes, dry and inflamed. Throbbing pains and very sensitive to light. Dilated pupils.
